FAQs

SET UP What do I need to set up a campaign?

It’s easy to get started. All you need are:
A completed contract
Your SecureAd analytics code and
A dedicated landing page.

Where do I put the code?

The best location for tracking clickthroughs on your ad is on your dedicate landing page.
Place your code at the bottom of your landing page, right above the tag </body> in the page code.

Placing it here ensures the best quality data and will prevent our code from slowing down the page loading.

What is a dedicated landing page?

A dedicated landing page is a page that can only be accessed by clicking on your ads. So, instead of directing your ad to www.mysite.com, you should direct it to www.mysite.com/MyAdvertisingCampaign.
This ensures other traffic sources that visit popular pages won’t contaminate your ad performance data.

What if I want to track impressions?

If you want to track the impressions of your ad, place your code at the bottom of the body of your ad code, right above the tag </body>.

What if I want to customize a campaign?

You can add in additional identifiers for your campaigns and ads if you like.
For ads, use: ad-id1, ad-id2, ad-id3 or ad-id4
For campaigns, use: cid1, cid2, cid3

You will need to set values for them like this using any letters and numbers you like – no spaces or special characters. For example:
cid1=MyCampaign ad-id1=MyAd

Once you have chosen your ID codes, place them in the code after your “oxuid” value, separated by the & symbol. It should look like this: &cid1=MyCampaign&ad-id1=MyAd

Copy and paste that code into the SecureAd code like this:

<script async src='//abc.ox-bio.com/t0?oxtrk=qlq&oxhrt=xx-xxxxx-xxx&oxuid=yyyyyy&
cid1=MyCampaign &ad-id2=MyAd'></script><noscript><img src='//abc.ox-bio.com/t0?oxtrk=qlq& oxhrt=xx-xxxxx-xxx&oxuid=yyyyyy&cid1=MyCampaign&ad-id2=MyAd' height='0' width='0' style='display: none;'></noscript>

NOTE: The customized ID codes get placed twice!

How do I use your code with AdWords?

Google requires that you use a tracking pixel in addition to our code. They also require that you send your Google AdWords customer service representative the tracking pixel to include in your ads.

Your tracking pixel will look like this:
https://m1.ox-bio.com/GetTrackingPixel?ad-id=[fromAdWordsDashboard]&oxtrk=[value]&oxhrt=[value]&oxuid=[value]&v=%%CACHEBUSTER%%

Our dashboard will provide you with code that will only need you to add in the Ad ID from your AdWords dashboard. The other values in the template above will be filled in automatically.

Once you have customized your tracking pixel, please send it to your AdWords customer service representative and place our collection code on your landing page as described above.

How can I use your code with DoubleClick (DBM)?

  1. Start by opening your advertiser, then click Creatives in the left menu.
  2. On the page that loads, click "New Creative." If you don't see the "New Creative" button, your advertiser's creatives are managed in DCM--you'll need to upload your first party creatives + pixels there.
  3. A new creative window will appear. Select "image" from the Display section of the new creative window.
  4. Enter a name for the creative in DBM.
  5. Drag your creative's image file from your computer and drop it over "Drag file here". Or, click "Upload," then select an image from your computer.
  6. Enter a landing page URL, beginning with https:// (pretty much everything needs to be secure these days, otherwise it won't be accepted by most exchanges):
  7. Last step relevant for the pixel: Click "Additional details" to append an HTML/JS tag to the creative, which is where you add the pixel.
  8. Then hit "save".
  9. Now, just make sure your code is on your dedicated landing page as described above and you're done.
